Big Top Mayhem- June Tag?

Another Box? I just couldn't help myself to create this Eileen Hull ATB for the June "Tag".  Not to mention I needed a box for a stash of cash my son got for his birthday.  Teens want money and that's boring to give.  I decided to use my ATB for holding the cash and then apply Tim's fun technique! I recently picked up the Big Top stamp set and this is just what I wanted to do with it.

Each side has it's own fun stencil and Big Top character!

Dimensional's pop these guys to life.
I watercolored each character and then fussy cut.
I used the minis for inking each stencil!

I love this guy!  And the chevron stencil is to die for!
Each section is layered with bright polka dot paper and watercolor paper.

I am seeing this elephant everywhere!

The top of the ATB has the sentiment cut and popped up.  I watercolored each word and added some rock candy for bling.  The star stencil is adorable!

I love this bright cheer ATB Gift Box!  I do love watercoloring so this…

CC3- Challenge #4

Another CC3- Challenge #4 Layering Stencils My youngest son turned 13 yesterday!!!!  Yep, 3 teenagers in the house. I spent a few hours yesterday making cards and other goodies for his birthday.  I will be posting those soon.  But I wanted to share with you my first embossing paste project.  I had used a gesso'd page from my mixed media journal.  I stamped the seahorse from nautical blueprint.  A layer of stripes stencil in faded jeans distress paint give it an under the sea vibe!
I'm new to mixed media so I don't have any "sprays".  But I did use some of my re-inkers to ink the background.
I used my bubbles stencil.  I'm sure I have it too thick.  But that's OK, I'm learning. I stamped my mini's on watercolor paper, inked and then fussy cut.  A coat of clear rock candy makes a great sparkle.

I smooshed some of my bubbles.  I guess they weren't dry yet.
UPDATE; Mix it Up post With my excitement to show you my first mixed media pages I forgo…

By the Sea

Summer is almost here!  It's so lovely to be using this awesome Graphic 45 paper pack. I combined some G45, a Prima and Tim Holtz Stamps to create this summer wall piece.
This wood frame is a great $1 Store find. Each wood 3"square has paper or cork.

I finally get to use my Nautical Blue Print stamp!  LOVE!!!!

Some water colouring and the bubble stencil. I also added some more distress paint to my charm.  Makes the letters pop!
I fussy cut out the Nautical Blue Prints Sea Horse and Mini Star Fish. If you have the big stamp set you need the minis too!

These Resin frames are adorable. I used some distress paint to add colour.
Another Mini Star Fish cut out and added #hastag stamp.
I stamped "dare to dream" all the way around the frame.

These Prima Flowers are a quick way to added dimension.

More fussy cutting for these shells!
Love this sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by!  I am excited to play with my Nautical Blue Print stamps! Check out these Challenges!Sim…

Mixing it Up

Well, I took my first class in Mixed Media!  I have not, up until now been a mixed media fan.  I find for me a lot of what I see is very abstract, bright and often feminine.  Not elements that float my boat creatively. So, I took a class with the fabulous Christy Riopel.  I had so much fun and I stayed open!  Like with anything just make it your own.  When I did that, I felt much better about mixed media and I feel we can have a future together.
Using the techniques Christy taught and my willingness to make a total mess I ended up really enjoying my first pages of mixed media.  And here they are. I just picked up the Big Top stamps the other day!  Perfect for these pages. I wasn't sure I would like these stamps.  But I'm seeing fun stuff created with them. This technique is all about stencils and working to layer them with dylusions spray.  Here, I've sketched hot air balloon...not well but I wanted one. I used multiple stencils and sprays.  Then traced my stencils over …

Summer Hanging

A little banner fun!  I love when I get asked to play with paper.  I made this as a display at my LSS.  Classes wind down for summer but we still want to keep everything paper filled with fun projects.  Banners always look so festive.  I hung this over my hot tub hoping it would pop!  Taking photo's of banners can pose a challenge.
I used some nautical paper and the banner cut from birthday bash cartridge.
I layered a bunch of Sizzix dies, the movers and shapers round cuts, the snowflake rosette and my awesome mini antlers.  A little masculine touch!
I thought I could get away with the snowflake rosette for summer and it worked!
I cut "SUMMER" with my new Vintage Market XL Die from Sizzix on grungeboard.  Awesome having this font for bigger cuts.
I watercolored the mini blueprints 6 summer refreshments, fussy cut and attached to dangle.
I coated the vintage market letters in faded jeans distress glitter.
The summer theme all comes together!
Wow, as always thank you fo…
