Time to get oganized, my Mid Life Crisis

OK, but this time I mean it. Last summer my son and husband built me this crate shelving and I adore it.  Click HERE to see all the photo's.  It's been a fantastic addition to my room.  I don't have a fancy craft studio where everything is in it's place and pristine...yet.  I have had my room for 3 years now and in that time I have thought about my needs.  Now I'm ready to pull it together.  And if I tell you and put it out there I'll have to follow through.  The "MOM" in me often takes a back seat and I'm happy too.  But I'm about to turn "40" and my husband called this project my "mid life crisis".  Works for me!
I'm very A Type and love to be organized.  I love it as much as I love crafting and cooking.

About these Recollections Modular Cubes...I am NOT a fan and until now I have stayed away. But, 12x12 paper storage options are my enemies.  Don't worry, my adorable husband came up with a great solution for them.  In fact I bought another 2 because I like his plan so much!  Stay tuned for the transformation.
I gave my SIL almost all my 12x12 paper and I have started to collect my distress papers and vintage paper papers.  I'm not a big paper person so 8 spaces is enough for me for storage.  My label maker is my buddy!
The marker and drawer cubes were the 2nd round I picked up.  I really like the marker storage and wee drawers.  Great for sponge pad and alcohol ink storage.  I am always loosing these and I'd like to start hoarding some!  The triple drawers hold all my teaching supplies and class kits where I teach, Scrapbooker's Paradise.

I finally have a direction and I'm so excited to get started and organized.  I'm still thinking though storage options especially on all my TH Stamps!  Post any links you may have to help me here or on my Facebook wall?
Stay tuned...I'm about to hit 40 and that means I'm about to go bat sh*t crazy building my room;p
(I'm supposed to be crafting right now.  Not blogging)

  1. hahaha! Mid life, that's funny tell your honey he's getting off easy then because most women in midlife wanna convertible car!!! hehehe! Can't wait to see your transformation!

  2. LOL I am always trying to change my space, unfortunately my DH thinks he at least needs "work" space in the "office/craft room". He gets a small corner and that is it.
I have the Tim Holtz binder for my stamps but I don't have a many as you..getting a 2nd one for just his holiday stamps. I use the modular cubes for a lot of storage...I think there are older photos sort of showing what I have done with them on my blog... I have changed things up and finally painted my room orange.

Journaling Tuck Spots and Pockets

It is official... I am addicted to Journaling.  This is an inspiration post... why?  I may have become lost in my creativity... it happens.
Scroll through the the photos for ideas.  I have been inspired by my fellow journalers too.
I kept the cover of Eileen Hull's new Journalsimple with a flipped cabinet card and some crackle paste stenciling.

Inside there are pages of Memoranda paper and Idea-Ology from Scrap ShotzMarch Scrapbook Kit.

A mini book stuffed in a pocket too.

Nicole Wright Designs Fallen Blossomis used on the tag, stamped and watercolored with worn lipstick oxide ink.

I used pages from my 115 year old art journal to create another mini.  Stamping and watercoloring throughout each page with Garden Flower and my stamp set Fallen Blossom.

Tuck spots and pockets for stuffing notes.

The March Kit with the new Memoranda paper is perfect on it's own.  But I still cut it up and collaged with it.

I fussy cut a found relative since I am still trying to get my hands on …

Simply Spring

Just a simple card with stuff I had laying around or partially started.  What could be more easy than that.  Sometimes you just have to dig through your stuff.  Click the links below to see what I used.

You are the best... using Ranger's new Letter It stamps.

A little mixed media die cutting.

I went all inky then added a coat of clear rock candy distress glitter.  If only the shimmer came through.

Love these flowers.

A grungy little edge.

This is a simple little card with a couple of easy techniques.  We have so much snow so I guess I just need some cheery spring.

Watercoloring with Butterflies & Oxides

The Eileen Hull Inspiration Team has been sharing tutorials all month long.  I do have a video tutorial for this card but it won't be read for awhile.  Hey, it happens.  I at least have a couple of photo's until the whole video is posted on Creative Scrapbooker Magazines website.

Loving the new Oxide inks especially as we approach those soft easter pallets.

A little stamping.

I know it's not a box or cool journal.  One of my favourite dies is the Birds & Butterflies thinlit.  Yep, there are pretty little dies perfect for card making too.

I love the intricate butterfly to layer over.

A simple card and no it's not even a journal.

I will share the video when it's all done and posted.  I will even embed it in the post too.
Onto next month...
